Silicon carbide photonics

Silicon carbide photonics is the branch of semiconductors photonics concerned with the use of silicon carbide (SiC) for the generation, manipulation, transmission and detection of light in integrated optical devices and photonic integrated circuits (PICs). Research in silicon carbide photonics has expanded rapidly since the early 2000s as SiC emerged as an alternative material platform to silicon photonics.
