State of Singapore (Malaysia)

Singapore, officially the State of Singapore, was one of the 14 states of Malaysia from 16 September 1963 to 9 August 1965. At the time of merger, Singapore was a British colony (having achieved self-governance in 1959) and had previously been part of the Straits Settlements until 1946.
