Social issues in the People's Republic of China are wide-ranging, and are often a combined result of the reform and opening up set in place in the late 1970s, the nation's political and cultural history, and an immense population. Some of these issues are exposed by the Chinese media, while subjects that may contain politically sensitive issues for the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) are censored.
