Soliloquy

A soliloquy (, from Latin solus 'alone' and loqui 'to speak', pl. soliloquies) is a monologue in drama in which a character speaks their thoughts aloud, typically while alone on stage or onscreen. It is used to reveal the character's inner feelings, motivations, or plans directly to the audience, providing information that would not otherwise be accessible through dialogue with other characters.
