Spanish immigration to Cuba (Spanish: Inmigración española a Cuba) began in 1492, when the Spanish first landed on the island, and continues to the present day. The first sighting of a Spanish boat approaching the island was on 27 October 1492, probably at Bariay on the eastern point of the island.
