Stavka of the Supreme Commander

The Stavka of the Supreme Commander (Russian: Ставка Верховного главнокомандующего) was the wartime supreme headquarters of the Russian Imperial Army in the field during World War I until the demobilization of the army in March 1918. The Stavka was led by the supreme commander, Grand Duke Nicholas Nicholaevich from 1914 to 1915 and then Emperor Nicholas II until the February Revolution in 1917.
