The Telugu Desam Party (TDP; transl. Party of the Telugu Land) is an Indian regional political party primarily active in the states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. It was founded by Indian matinée idol N. T. Rama Rao (NTR) on 29 March 1982, it holds the distinction of being the first regional political party established in the erstwhile united Andhra Pradesh.
