Tiran Island
Tiran Island (Arabic: جزيرة تيران Jezîret Tīrān, Jazīrat Tīrān), is a Saudi island in the Red Sea located in the Strait of Tiran. The island's administration was transferred by King Abdulaziz Al Saud to Egypt in 1950 due to concerns of Israeli expansion while Saudi Arabia lacked a navy to protect the island.
