Tropaeum Alpium

The Tropaeum Alpium (Latin for 'Trophy of the Alps', French Trophée des Alpes or Trophée d'Auguste), is a Roman victory monument (tropaeum) erected at La Turbie in the Alpes-Maritimes, above Monaco. It commemorated the subjection of the Alpine peoples to the imperium of the Roman people under Augustus.
