Ruthenian nobility of Galicia

The noble class of Ruthenians in what is now Western Ukraine enjoyed a number of legal and social privileges. They were referred to by the term shliakhta ( Ruthenian:шлѧхта, Ukrainian: шляхта, Polish: szlachta).
