United States Marine Forces Special Operations Command

The United States Marine Forces Special Operations Command (MARSOC) is one of the four primary component commands (USASOC, USNSWC, AFSOC, MARSOC) of the United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM). MARSOCs mission is to recruit, train, sustain, and deploy scalable, expeditionary forces worldwide to accomplish special operations missions assigned by USSOCOM. == History and lineage == MARSOC's creation was announced on 1 November 2005 by U.S. secretary of defense Donald Rumsfeld, following a meeting between Rumsfeld, SOCOM commander General Bryan D.
