Vlasov equation

In plasma physics, the Vlasov equation is a differential equation describing the time evolution of the distribution function of a collisionless plasma consisting of charged particles with long-range interactions, such as Coulomb interactions. The equation was first proposed as a descriptor for plasmas by Anatoly Vlasov in 1938 and was later discussed in greater detail in his monograph.
