Women's surfing

Women have involved themselves in surfing as old as the development of the sport itself in Hawaii continuing into written records dating as early back to the 17th century. One of the earliest records of women surfing is of princess Keleanohoanaʻapiʻapi, dubbed Maui's Surf Riding Princess, who was rumored as the trailblazer of surfing and could surf better than both men and women.
