Yeongdong (region)

Yeongdong (Korean pronunciation: [jʌŋ.doŋ], Korean pronunciation: [ɾjɔŋ.dɤŋ], literally 'east of the passes') is the eastern, coastal region of Gangwon Province, South Korea and Kangwŏn Province, North Korea. It is divided from the inland Yeongseo region by the Taebaek Mountains.
