Yeonsangun or Prince Yeonsan (Korean: 연산군; Hanja: 燕山君; 2 December 1476 – 30 November 1506), personal name Yi Yung, was the 10th monarch of Joseon. He was the eldest surviving son of King Seongjong and Deposed Queen Yun, whose execution has been cited as the primary catalyst for his descent into madness.
