Homeothermy

Homeothermy, homothermy, or homoiothermy (from Ancient Greek ὅμοιος (hómoios) 'similar' and θέρμη (thérmē) 'heat') is thermoregulation that maintains a stable internal body temperature regardless of external influence. This internal body temperature is often, though not necessarily, higher than the immediate environment.
