An hors d'oeuvre ( or DURV(-rə); French: hors-d'œuvre [ɔʁ dœvʁ(ə)] ), entrée, appetiser, appetizer or starter is a small dish served before a meal in European cuisine. Some hors d'oeuvres are served cold, others hot.
