Africa–Soviet Union relations

Africa–Soviet Union relations were the diplomatic, political, military, and cultural relationships between the Soviet Union and Africa from 1945 to 1991. The Soviets offered financial aid, munitions, and credits for purchases from the Soviet bloc, while avoiding direct involvement in armed conflicts.
